Ah the smokies, what a wonderful place to be. Well I would imagine if it wasn't raining it would be as wonderful as people say, after all it is the most visited national park in the United States. And today, I visited in a rainstorm that will turn into a snowstorm tomorrow. However it is still amazingly beautiful and the shelters here are much better than I thought they would be. They're all made of stone with two wooden sleeping platforms, including a fireplace and a tarp over the front to keep in warmth. I'm currently at Russell field shelter with around a dozen people cramped inside. But hey, it's better than my queen sized tempurpedic mattress fully fashion with sheets and a comforter inside my own home with a heater! Right?

Ps. once again I packed so much food out of town. Everyone is making fun, but not everyone is as full as I am and will continue to be for the next six days. The joke is on them.
